Ethical.Market Haul

I was lucky enough to get some spending money for Christmas this year and so I treated myself to a few indulgent goodies. My first set of treats came from the wonderful Ethical.Market which you may remember as The Lost Lanes.

First up I spotted this gorgeous emerald green velvet bow hairband. I’m a sucker for hair accessories and this beauty is one of my favourite colours and wonderfully oversized. Made by Beauxoxo it is ethically sourced and handcrafted in Bournemouth. They do a hot pink one that I’d love to get myself at some point.

It has an elasticated section so even if you suffer from having a massive big head like me, it’s still going to fit! The velvet feels lovely and the colour is just perfect. The bow itself is a really good size too. It looks fabulous front and centre, but could also be worn to the side if you want to attract a little less attention!

It even came with a handwritten thank you note, which is a little touch I always love and really sets independant sellers apart from those big chains.

Next up, I indulged my love of enamel pins and my love of dinosaurs with this cute T-Rex pin. Designed by Lydia Meiying in Manchester and manufactured, with love in Huddersfield. You can grab your very own here. This little guy also came with a little thank you post card and he is a fabulous edition to my ever growing pin collection.

My last purchases came from Fairypants (you can find all the beauty items I purchased under the link).

Fairypants makes vegan and cruelty free cosmetics, skincare and perfume.

We pride ourselves on making things you can’t find on the high street – if you want Parma Violet perfume and a Mojito lipbalm, you come to us!

Everything is made by hand in our Cheshire HQ, and we keep an eye on quality so you know you’re only getting the best.

I treated myself to a lovely lip-balm, Black Forest Gateau. It has the BEST smell and I’ve had to reapply a few times because I’ve just been licking it off my lips.. It has a purple sheen to it in the pot which doesn’t transfer to your lips and it goes on smoothly, a little goes a long way. It is in a handy sized little pot too so ideal for chucking in your purse or pocket.

I also grabbed some perfume, called Parma Violet

Parma Violet is a soft, powdery floral scent. This fragrance opens with green violet leaf and violet flower, followed by a heart of parma violets, warm rose and freesia all descending onto base notes of powdery violet and iris.

It really does smell of Parma Violets, this 30ml bottle comes with a handy dropper to pop the perfume all over yourself with. The smell isn’t too sickly and lasts really well. I have my eye on the entire range of body butters and would love to try more of the perfumes. Pina Colada sounds awesome!

I adore the blue coloured bottles and labels of these products. Really eyecatching.

My last purchase was a set of vegan nail varnishes, also from Fairypants. There are a couple of sets of shades, Neon, Metallic and Pastel. I went for Metallic.

The polish is a good consistency and the bottles are a nice size. The brush painted the colour on evenly too.

I used two coats which gave me a really good coverage.

The colours are lovely, I think the blue is my favourite! The shades are (thumb – babyfingernail): Katherine, Anne, Victoria, Mary, Elizabeth. You can also buy each colour individually.

I have my eye on lots of other bits from Ethical.Market but for now I am very pleased with my treats! What do you think? Have you treated yourself to anything this Christmas? Get in touch below.
